One of the points that Richard Panzer made recently is that Mother does not talk about Father. She doesn’t talk about him as the messiah, being a great man, or even how much she loves him and misses him. I really hadn’t thought about it before, but it has been bugging me. So I watched Mother’s talk in LV (12/12) and I realized he is right. Mother mentioned Jesus many times, Mary a few times, and the importance of the salted fish, but the only one time she mentioned Father was in one reference to her experience “with Father”. This affirms to me that Hyung Jin Nim is also right that Mother has deep resentment, bitterness and even anger towards Father. Most widows who lost a beloved spouse will talk about them, but Mother is silent.
